BACK TO BLACKROCK
In May, we spent some time at BlackRock Financial’s NYC office where employees helped us break down myths about what it’s really like to work in finance. We heard inspiring stories from women who are changing the landscape (and face!) of finance. The greatest surprise was a video concept that was conceived on a shoot day. When a scheduling conflict took away talent, we decided to use a prior video for Caesars as inspiration and sat down with all three women from our “Making An Impact” video - where they discussed what it’s like to work in a male dominated field. EXPLORING WITH ENTERPRISE
Appreciation for years of service is something every employee hopes for. So Enterprise Holdings Inc (EHI) decided to surprise employee, Anna Lee, with a trip home to Germany as a thank you for her dedication. We packed our bags and flew to Frankfurt with Anna for a few days so she could spend time with loved ones. We were able to capture Anna’s story with her mom and a few former colleagues. Global mobility is one of the company’s many perks and we’re glad they decided to let us join in on the fun. For more on Anna’s journey with Enterprise, check out the full video here.
MOONWALKING THE PINK CARPET
Last night, we walked the 2018 MTV VMAs pink carpet with Cox Communications’ Maria Esposito. Whether it was Queen Radio’s Nicki Minaj, Love & Hip Hop’s Amara La Negra or KUWTK’s Kylie Jenner, celebrities showed up and out to watch Jennifer Lopez receive the Video Vanguard award and see how many moonpeople Cardi B was going to rake up. We spoke with Lion Babe, Joshua Bassett, Audie Cornish, The Miz, Asian Doll, Jasmine Luv, Madison Beer and many more to capture the evening’s excitement and find out who was rooting for who.
We also got some great insight on connecting from the stars of MTV’s hit shows like Catfish, Pretty Little Mamas, and Wild N’ Out. It was a true New York City media moment as streets were barricaded, pedestrians looked on to see the stars and everyone struggled to find their taxi. Most people think of band-aids and babies when they think of J&J but the company is deeply committed to the future, exploring how technology and innovation can help us lead healthier lives. TOURING THE DESERT CITY
Laying down roots in a new city isn’t always easy, especially when starting a new job. We partnered with Caesars Entertainment to create a video series about what it means to climb the career ladder when you live and work in Sin City. Over the course of a week, we chatted with over eighteen Caesars employees. From discussing personal priorities with C-level managers at a poker table to climbing the corporate ladder as we filmed in the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, we toured the city’s many sights while learning what it means to be an ally in the workplace. No matter what city your career takes you to, there will always be a place to call home.

DELIVERING KINDNESS
At Dugud Lab, we are always a fan of companies that prioritize and focus on giving back to their communities - whether it be local or abroad. During last year’s Veteran’s day, we were able to follow a group of Unilever employees that work with Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon organization to deliver care packages to soldiers overseas. It was pretty amazing to hear stories of people of all walks of life coming together for this great cause. We even met employees that had received these packages while deployed and now they pay it forward by creating these packages for others.
THE UNEXPECTED PATH
A career path isn’t always linear. In August 2017, we had the pleasure of sitting down with four Capital One employees that shared the winding road of decisions that led them to their current position with the company. In partnership with The Muse, an online career source, this project became a source of pride as we too connected with these bold stories. It was a beautiful day on location as we explored Capital One’s gorgeous Richmond campus and affirmed these tremendous stories of risk. From an architect and soldier to a religious studies major and baseball player, they all took the unexpected path, and in the end, it made all the difference. What a powerful reminder that changing direction can be anxiety-inducing but oh the places you’ll go…
THE CONTENTLY FOUNDATION
Telling stories that need to be heard is at the heart of everything Dugud Lab does. While many organizations tell stories that matter, it's rare to find a group of people that believe in the inherent power of storytelling and its potential to change the world. Director & Co-Founder Zack McDowell had the pleasure of creating a mission video for The Contently Foundation. This organization sheds light on stories often overlooked by major news sources.
Through steadfast investigative journalism, this NY based 501(c)3 has partnered with Fusion, Gawker, New York Post, and the Guardian to bring these stories to the masses. You may not know that these stories can take months to investigate and countless hours from various volunteers to put together. Zack was fortunate to follow their team for a week, gain insight into all they do, and create a video that strives to capture all their great work.
